Problem and Fix attempted to join was identical to the SID
When trying to join the active directory domain, we receive the following error:
Computer Name/Domain Changes The following error occurred attempting to join the domain “OurDomainName”: The domain join cannot be completed because the SID of the domain you attempted to join was identical to the SID of this machine. This is a symptom of an improperly cloned operating system install. You should run sysprep on this machine in order to generate a new machine SID. Please see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=168895 for more information.
How to fix the SID . error
- Move to folder
C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\ - Double click sysprep.exe to open it
- Make the necessary changes in the next step:
- System Cleanup Action: Enter System Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) Tích vào Generalize Shutdown Options: Reboot
- Click the OK button
